Anxiety has decreased for both of us. He’s happier at and sitting at the table again.
“[In the first week] Anxiety has decreased for both of us. He’s happier at and sitting at the table again. Positive meal experiences. He’s even been trying new foods which is blowing my mind.”
I reassured him that it might be a little different but he could totally handle it.
“Testimonials are a social proof, a powerful way to inspire trHad a moment [in the first week] where my son was upset about the appearance of a safe food on his plate. I reassured him that it might be a little different but he could totally handle it. This worked surprisingly well to diffuse the fit he was throwing.“
After a couple of weeks she…even initiated trying new things on her own!
“My 9-year-old daughter with ARFID has always had a tough time with food, and I was getting increasingly frustrated with how little progress we seemed to make since her diagnosis at 6. But this program completely changed that for us. [It] is very easy to follow. It doesn’t feel like extra work, just simple steps incorporated slowly…After a couple of weeks, she started feeling more comfortable trying different foods and even initiated trying new things on her own!“

The Pediatric Screener for ARFID and Extreme Picky Eating (PSA-Eat) is a quick picky eating test that tells you more about how serious your child’s picky eating is — so you’re not guessing. It was developed by a team of specialists across pediatrics, psychology, occupational therapy, nutrition, and eating disorder treatment.

These programs use the latest research in child feeding, picky eating and ARFID and were developed in collaboration with advisors in:
BetterBites® programs were designed with clinical referral in mind.
Across the suite, they function as family behavioral interventions — structured, parent-delivered programs that support children’s eating and nutrition. They are appropriate as standalone support for families with limited access to specialist services, as a complement to ongoing therapy, or as a bridge for families on specialist waitlists.
The Pediatric Screener for ARFID and Extreme Picky Eating (PSA-Eat) helps providers support parents in identifying whether their child has indicators of ARFID or extreme picky eating. Parents can use the information to decide which program is the best fit for their child’s eating challenge.
