Kids Eat in Color

Hi! I'm Jennifer, a mom, wife, and registered dietitian.

When I was a new mom, I learned that feeding kids is sometimes tricky. My first kid fell off the growth chart and I learned how much effort can go into feeding a child.

Turns out feeding kids can be super stressful!

At the same time, I've learned to remind myself that I'm a great mom, regardless of whether my kids eat their veggies (or whatever food) today. If I focus on small improvements and little changes, big things can happen in the food department.

I am so excited to be here helping you do the same.

I've spent a lot of time studying and working in the world of food, culture, and family.

I have a masters of science in public health, in international health and human nutrition from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. During my masters work, I was part of a research team looking at inner city corner stores and carryout restaurants. I completed my dietetics coursework through the University of Northern Colorado, and organized my own dietetic internship focusing in policy and organizational management in the Washington DC metro area through the University of Northern Colorado.

I have a bachelors of science in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Economics from Wheaton College. I earned a certificate in Human Needs and Global Resources by spending 6 months living in India and studying poverty and development. After college, I worked at a food bank, coordinating their Youth Nutrition Program for several years. That's where I learned how much kids need veggies. And where I decided to go back to school for nutrition and public health.

I have two little guys who are 3 and 5 and am married to the best guy on the planet. We live in Maryland and do mostly stereotypical "boy stuff" (think extreme dirt and rocks) in our free time.
