I’m thrilled to announce Kids Eat in Color meals through Home Chef’s Family Menu!
I feel like these days, we all need options for reducing the mental load of feeding kids. Meal kits do that! They take the planning and shopping for dinners off of your plate.
In the past, I tried a few meal kit companies, and they just weren’t a good fit for us. I couldn’t serve the meals in a kid-friendly way. The portions were small, and they didn’t have enough veggies. Some of the meals didn’t even have one serving of veggies per person. I would have to add veggies to the meal, which completely defeats the purpose! I gave up.
I had always thought it would be fun to have Kids Eat in Color meal kits, though. It seemed far-fetched and was just a daydream. So when HomeChef approached me about partnering to make dinner kits for families that included kid feeding tips and lots of color, I was immediately on board (and you know how rarely I partner with brands). What an AMAZING way to help parents expose kids to veggies and take the brainwork out of dinners!
The Kids Eat in Color + Home Chef Family Menu meals are great. I’m so proud of them! We worked for months coming up with the ideas, making sure they met nutrition standards, and testing them out. They are kid- and parent-tested.
We had the neighbors over to try some of the meals when we were testing them. We needed to know if other kids liked them. Not only did their kids like the meals, but they also got to try purple cabbage for the first time, and they learned they liked it! The sauces and dips make the meals so tasty. One of my kids actually asked the next day if there were leftovers of the roasted veggies with herbed garlic butter that were served with the parmesan-crusted chicken cutlets.
The Kids Eat in Color + Home Chef Meal kits bring the meal planning and shopping to you. It’s all right there, with pre-portioned ingredients. The serving sizes are substantial, and there are plenty of veggies. The recipe cards give you ideas on how to serve the meal to kids, too. These are a great fit for families!
I wanted these meals to be more than just a dinner, though. They are about bringing your family together to connect, enjoy, and nourish at the same time. You get to expose your child to a variety of foods and colors and also have fun together. Some of the recipe cards have suggestions for how to have fun and lighten things up during dinner. What we really want is to feel connected to our kids and nourish them at the same time. These meal kits help you do that!
