For a twist, add your favorite veggies into the pan when cooking your egg and chips. Diced onions and bell peppers would be delicious additions. Love mushrooms? Add some chopped mushrooms!
Take it a step further and add spices and herbs of choice to your egg mixture. For spices, try paprika, garlic powder, onion powder or Italian seasoning. For a pop of green, add herbs like chopped parsley or green onions.
Cheese lovers could add cheese to the dish. Cheddar, fontina, gouda, goat cheese or feta would all be great options! You can also add your favorite meat for an extra flavor boost.
Traditionalists might like chips and egg with a slice of buttered toast.
You may also choose to serve this with a side of fresh seasonal fruit or veggies, like cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, carrots or bell peppers.
If using fresh veggies, you can also offer a dipping sauce, like ranch, balsamic or honey mustard.
For adults, serve these eggs and chips with a side leafy green salad or with extra bread.
Because chips and egg is easy to customize, this easy recipe can be great for families with picky eaters. Each person can choose what goes into their own egg and chips dish. This recipe allows something for everyone in the family!
For kids who struggle with mixed foods, you can cook the eggs and fries separately and serve them as separate components, with fruit or vegetables on the side.
